CHAPTER 1
After walking a few blocks away from school, I ditched my wig that I have been wearing every time to school and found a phone booth nearby. I went in and made sure nobody was following or waiting for me outside. I picked the receiver and dialed a number, a few minutes went by before a voice picked up. “Hello?” said an old raspy voice, must be due to different time zones, it's probably around 4 am where he is. “Uncle Ben? It's me, Aunt Petunia has blown off steam again;need a place to stay” I said in a coded message. “S**t, you alright boy?” inquired Uncle Ben (not his real name). “Need a place to stay, other than that I'm just peachy” I said. After a few seconds of a silence pause he finally said “come over then”. “I'll be there soon” I hung up before he could even reply and hailed the nearest taxi and headed for the airport, in a sense feeling relieved that I no longer have to put up with the people at school any longer.
Upon reaching the airport, I bought a plane ticket, cursed at the thought of the long flight there and went to the magazine store to look for some reading material. “Dumbledore is gonna beat Voldemort!” I heard a kid saying to his friend. “Na'ah I think Sirius will!” his friend argued. I picked a novel and was paying for it and a pack of reds when their personal debate started intensifying, in short started to get on my nerves. “Your both wrong, both of them die...read the books and you'll know” I said. The twinkle in their eyes faded as they heard my answer, like a small toddler finding out that Santa Clause did not exist. Their argument faded and they started to sob. I grinned and walk pass them and headed for the departure hall. I thought to myself well I'm a Tolkien fan anyway, Lord of the Rings beats a teen wizard with family issues any day. I headed towards the gents and went into a cubicle and put on a fake beard and contact lens that changed my eye color, made sure that they were on perfectly and headed for the ticket counter again with another passport at hand.
While waiting for my flight, I lighted one of my cigarettes and watch the TV (or telly if your from this parts). The news was on, my high school was highlighted in an evening special, the tag line was that this was done by a group of hoodlums whom had a personal vendetta with the school. I chuckled at the cover up story that they were running when suddenly the a flight attendant came towards me and told me that my flight was calling for final boarding. I headed for the gate and showed my boarding pass and headed in. I caught sight of two men in suits heading towards another gate, they were inquiring about a person and said that this person was a wanted person and showed the flight attendant. That's when I heard the flight attendant's announcement “Attention to all passengers of ***** Airways heading to Amsterdam our flight is delayed due to certain mechanical failure, we are sorry for the inconvenience and will be departing shortly after we have things under control”. After the announcement the two men headed into the boarding tunnel and into the plane.
“Sir? Is there something wrong?” asked the flight attendant at my gate. “Nothing, just thought I saw someone familiar” I said and headed in. I found my seat and looked through the window, I saw the two men in suits in the tunnel chute near the other plane, they looked confused and distraught. “Newbies” I chuckled to myself. I got comfortable in my seat and heard the pilot's announcement “Attention to all passengers of ***** Airlines we are about to depart for Hong Kong, please fasten your seat belt and remain at your seat.....” and he went on while the flight attendant showed the passengers on the safety precautions. Meanwhile, I was looking at my flight ticket, and knew that I had another transit flight to take to Singapore. “F**k, it's going to be a hell of a long journey, Asia here I come” I muttered to myself and began reading my novel. While on the runway I took a glance through the window again, I saw the two men in suits at the tarmac, looking lost and confused, I grinned and closed the window and continued reading my novel.
What are your choice's in life? Are you happy with the path you have taken?

Short Novel
Greetings readers, this is just a phase I'm going through and thus I have decided to write a short novel and updating it every week (if possible). Just a key reminder though that this novel is FICTIONAL and all the characters are made up. Hope you enjoy it.
TWISTED MIND : PROLOGUE
You know back in the good old days back when you were a kid? Happy life, cool friends, nagging parent's and also free of hassle? Basically the good life at the beginning of it all. Well what do you do if in reality your life is way far than those factors and in seems like those kind of things are a fairy tale life to you?
Let's put it in my shoes, migrant person (me no understand your language), across the world from your kind of people and to top it all off a miserable person at home and you are actually running away from your loved ones, and for a good reason too.....
“ Dude, seriously what the hell man; quit your fantasy and come back to reality” a familiar voice said to me, I turn around and it's my bud Jeffrey Tanning looking at me with an irritated face which I am all to dull to care for anymore. “Hey Jeff, dull day morning huh?” I said to him while already knowing the repercussion of saying it. “Morning? Dude seriously it's noon you twit, get you-” before he could finish the sentence a prefect (which also considered by most freshman to be an honorable post, but for me a senior and a former one who used to bare the same post ; I can tell you this, we do a heck of a lot more dishonorable things than normal student's).
“Strife?” said the prefect with a sneer on her face, ahhhh good old Christine Paulman; respected deputy head prefect also the Head prefects lover...and also still pissed that I punched him 2 years ago back when I was still in the force for some dispute. “Yeah? What's the deal C?” I replied without even looking at her annoying face. “The headmistress is calling for you” she said with a bit of venom to her voice, she's definitely still pissed I broke her lovers nose and left it at a permanent state of crookedness. Without even replying I picked my back pack and headed out the class, really felt like a convict from death row heading to his sentence by the stares and looks from my classmates; being escorted by a prefect who literally hates me does not help with the situation either.
I reached the supposedly execution chamber or in another term it's called the headmistress or principal's office, depends which region you are from. I give a curt nod to her secretary who ushers me in with the body language that tells me that she hates my American guts. “Mr Dalamante, do come in” said the principal without moving her eye contact from her computer screen, probably fiddling around with e-bay finding a new item to buy at the expense of her husband's credit card. “Mrs Oliver” I acknowledged her as I made myself comfortable in the chair in front of her desk. “Mr Dalamante, it seems you have been up to no good again now are you?” she said with a stern face. “What did I do this time?” I asked while thinking of all the stuff I pull off this week alone and which one got me busted, Smoking in school? Cutting classes? Puncturing the new teacher's Prius tires? . “It seems to me that you have vandalized our school's south wall with your personal touch?” she said while fiddling my student file, I nearly grinned looking at the size of it since I was here only 3 years back; nearly wanted to boast on how thick it was compared to then. “What do you mean ma'am?” I said with an American slang. “Don't toy with me young man, I know you did it cause you wrote your name on it!” she yelled and slammed a photo in front of me.
I was far to familiar with what was the fuss, the south wall of the school had a spray painted insignia, a drake writhing in a lake of fire with two swords as it's front fangs and under the insignia was a Spanish caption and my name. I looked at it for some time, and finally looked at her. “How much would it cost to pay to fix the whole school?”. “ I beg your pardon?” she said stunned. I took out a cheque book and scribbled down an estimated amount for the repairs and passed the cheque to her and got up from my chair. “Sit down boy, we are not finished!” she screamed and then a loud bang kicked in. The entire room shook and screaming of students and staff we heard everywhere. “What in hell's name is that?” she screamed, this time out of fear, which I found amusing for a 53 year old lady who always said in assemblies that she has conquered her fears and succeeded in her life; well apparently this situation was not in her resume .
I peeked through the blinds of her office window, I saw a whole bunch of guys, in supposedly a royal army uniforms, they were storming the south wall which was now a pile of rubble. I knew the faction of this squad of guys with their red and blue attire and it made my mouth taste like bile. “Well ma'am it seems I am dropping out early” I said while packing my back pack up and taking out a small mineral bottle filled with gasoline. “Wha-what?” she said with a surprised face. “These people know me and I am afraid that if I don't go somebody might get dragged into our personal vendetta” I said as I opened her window after all member's of the squad were already over the south wall and beyond view. “you know these hoodlums?” she asked with a rattled voice.
“Yeah, me and these bunch of people go way back, they must be looking for me” I said as I pulled out my lighter and toss gasoline over my file and torched it. “What are you doing? Who in god's name are they!?” she demanded, she was confused and fearful for she no longer had an understanding on the situation at hand. I clambered halfway out of her office window and replied with an evil grin “Their my relatives looking for my head” and then I jumped down into the bushes and headed out of the destroyed south wall and sprinted down the alley, away from getting caught by the traitorous bastards that are hunting for me.

Decisions in Uncertainty
“A wise man makes his own decisions, an ignorant man follows public opinion”
- Chinese proverb
Decisions have to be made every single day in our lives, but not all are positive in nature. As the proverb shows, mankind is also prone to decision making by the influence of the public (family, friends etc). One has to understand, that at the end of the day your choice is yours and the repercussion (if any) is yours alone to bear...like the Spanish saying goes mano-a-mano. Sometimes it is better for you to make your own decisions and learned from the mistakes (if any) that you have made, thus making you wiser and more witty in our decisions, instead on relying on others for guidance. Sure there will be conflict between family members or friends if you do not follow their advise but sometimes the decisions they made are safe ones.Life is always full of uncertainty, if all your decisions are certain in nature, then when will you learn?
here's a quote that we (me and my bro's) live by :
You must follow your own path and think for yourself, dare to take risks and fail, don't rely on us too much (parent's) for we may be against your decision.Sure there will be confrontation, but at least you are thinking for yourself and you are on your own two feet. We are not going to be here forever so you must come to those terms and try to live with your own conscience and although there will be conflict with us, know this...you are in charge of your life, not us...grow your own wings and follow your own path
- My parent's
Thus, even though sure the public (family, friends etc) will not tend to agree with everything you have decided; at the end of the day you and only yourself have to walk down the road....be brave and take heed that it is your own path, not others..thus you will have to walk it alone in the end, but do walk with stride....for if you make decisions on your own then you will feel more satisfied. If your decisions are incorrect, at least you will learn from your mistakes and you will make wiser decisions in the future.Cheers

Life's Debacles, What do you do?
I think I’ll journey out some day to wondrous lands afar,
Or even chart a journey to a distant blazing star.
But rest assured that when my journey begs to take its cue,
Always know that when I go, this journey takes you too.
We’ll start our journey out from here by horse and cart of old,
The seaside docks - and journey pauses - where we shall behold
A noble schooner for the journey primed to launch as planned:
To sail with dolphins cross the seas then journey back on land.
And so our journey goes by foot to conquer mountains tall:
A chapter hence the journey reached, with scenes that should enthral.
But when we tire, let's rest our journey, stretched in fields of flowers,
And bathe atop the mountain from the journey - autumn showers!
Refreshed, our journey takes a turn - we'll venture back for home,
But first we'll let the journey take a tangent just to roam.
And in the winding route, this journey's bound to bide content,
But most of all take heed - let's make our journey life's event
Journey to Be - Mark R Slaughter
Okay after a month of hiatus from the blog and also after the rapid enraged outburst of the previous post (apologies to those who were offended), it made me wonder are things in life always taken for granted? Are human beings always searching for the easiest path to them of which they can take? What of some individuals whom stride for taking the road less taken (read the poem) by others?
These kind of questions made me wonder, what is the key factor in each individuals life's journey? Sure it is impossible to link every humans key factor, but at some point in time there should be a certain "bump" on the road right? such as hardships like failure, break ups, laziness, injuries (permanent) and such.Do we really need to lash out our sadness and resentment to other's as well just to make them understand the way we (the one who is suffering) feel? Cry out in agony instead of trying to get back on our own two feet and move forward? There are those that will come to aid those in their time of need...but what if the person you are helping bites the hand that is trying to help? Or choose to turn on deaf's ear and ignore your advise? It is these type of things that got me thinking for a whole night to write this piece (hopefully it does not offend anybody).
What I'm trying to say is when these types of situations come storming in our lives, what do we do? Do we face it head on? Or just bow one's head and accept it? Do we ever let go of our insecurities and resentment? These type of questions I guess must be answered by each individual, for no answer would ever be the same cause everyone is unique in their own way. Even to this day a majority of mankind has used their own resentments and insecurities to harm or hurt others be it as a political agenda or just as a simple way of getting revenge or lashing out at others to feel their pain...but ask yourself this, at the end of the day after you have done so...deep down do you feel satisfied? Will you be satisfied by infecting others with your own resentments and insecurities? If you are satisfied then that is just sad for you.
As for yours truly sure there have been a certifiable amount of regrets in my life's journey, but I try to take it and lick my wounds after and try to let it go cause I think if I don't I will be haunted by it for the rest of my life (example: still afraid of sharks and get's seasick very easily). I know letting go of your past pain is hard but for example look at one of the worlds iconic leaders Nelson Mandela, he go out of prison and was the president of South Africa and his first move was to unite the people regardless if some of them were the ones who put him in prison in the first place (go watch Invictus and see for yourself). This iconic man was able to forgive the people who put him there and has let go of all his resentment and pain and for that by my own personal opinion he is still the best leader the world has ever had.
But like I said, can every human have the same key factor in life and react the same way? highly unlikely but there are some true gems out there and I hope they can be the shining light that will guide the world in the future or just be a simple role model for a society as let's face it...the worlds kinda a grim place at the moment.
At the end of the day, I guess it is up to you and only you and yourself alone that can be the judge of the hand that has been given to you, what will you do with it? Are you willing to let go of your past regrets and hardships and strive on for a better future? You must decide on your own. Cheers fellow readers.

A Long Road Bending - James Freeman
This life is one long lovesong
and I've trouble with the lyrics
Yet you still smile from the piano
when I've forgotten words
then hold me up, never holding on
Allowing me another breath
I'm afraid to look you in the eye
It's easier to glance away
Always hope to find some sense
for me in penning notes
Forever trying to find a name
for the ghosting nameless
Reaching after description, a sense
of times gone, choices made
and lived so long ago
They're foggy now and yet
my heartbeat sometimes quickens
and there's a tight fist
somewhere in the middle
of my self esteem
A swallowing of missed opportunities
Gulping away the fear
So, what is there in looking back
that rings true
Looks right and sounds like
music not too overworked
Manipulated to meet
whatever the current need
Is a hit tune really quite that good
or does the whole thing
depend on rhythm and beat
woofed and tweeted, amplified
Scores written across night skies
in blue black ink
Small wonder it's obscured
lying here, looking up
Maybe I've just not found
the proper key, still humming
and it gets beyond me
stays just out of reach
Play it again Sam, it's got to be
a sort of mirror writing
Clear in the reflection
I'm obviously standing here
looking for the proper shade of green
in a whole damn forest
Sorting through brambled underbrush
for one clear thought
Otherwise I've tricked the truth
and truths have a way
of slithering back when least expected
Jumping up to bite me in the ankle
It's simple enough this mucking about
from day to day
The struggle for a song is mostly
maintenance at several levels
Offering comparative economic choice
on the Mercedes Meter
when any fool should know
that a motorcycle fills the bill
Someone on the back I care about
arms around my waist
The maps all left behind for those
looking for destinations
Running with me in the wind
singing phrasings in my ear
Making time to lay on grassy banks
and let it slide a while
Wandering and wondering along with me
where it all will end and if we'll find
the song we've written
is finally just a long road bending
This life is one long lovesong
and I've trouble with the lyrics
Yet you still smile from the piano
